Be Human and pray por Humanity

Pray for Paris.

Be Human and Pray for Humanity.

Pray for Paris. Is one of the sentences posted these past days on Facebook, with people´s profile picture covered by a French flag. Peace symbols mixed with the Eiffel Tower silhouette proliferate through the social media. And all of us want to support the French people, which last Friday 13th suffered the worst terrorist attack on their history. We won’t stay impassible at the suffering and death of innocent people. We claim, on our own ways that are changing our Facebook status, or writing this small reflection.  What can we do after all? Living comfortably our accommodate life; I mean, we are not going to join the army and go to fight against one or another crazy and savage group, aren´t we?

But the question is, who´s going to pray for the rest of the people that die and does not appear on the news? We are moved by terrible events, same as we were moved by that picture of that kid lying on the sand of that beach. Everybody started to care and try to help the refugees back then. But today no one ask themselves how many more kids are dying every day; how many people still die on terrorist attacks in markets, schools, universities… and why?, because of religion?

Everyone should be free to believe in whatever they want, and leave the fellow man to believe what he wants as well. My freedom ends where your freedom begins, so let me live my life believing what I wish, the same way as I don´t care if you go to mass on Sundays, pray 5 times a day looking at the Mecca, or don´t turn on your TV on Sundays because your God tell that is a sin. I don´t care about it, as long as you don’t want me to necessarily do the same.

I am not a religious person; I cannot imagine any superior being allowing so much suffering to his beloved sons.

We are not so naive to ignore this cocktail is shaken and stirred with political and economic interests, which gives us the bomb ready to explode that is our world nowadays. What a pity. I feel like running away to live in the mountains on the smallest town away of the civilization.  I fear to bring children to this world of crap.

Sorry about this grey thinking of today, but I am frightened every time I think about how we people act; the farther we go with some things, the more barbarian we go with the others.
We try to find water on Mars, and we can´t give potable water to every human on Earth. We use smartphones, tables, intelligent cars that drive by their own, and in the other hand we suffer a senseless crusade, created by the authorities and politicians and representative of the people. What a fallacy. And we don´t need to go that far as to a global scale conflict, we just have to give a look to the newspaper to see sexual abused and slaved women, or those who die by the hands of the people who said that they loved them; kids killed by their own parents; or animals killed by the people who were supposed to take care of them. People means a group of persons, and person is supposed to be a human being; how ironic is that when you google “humanity”, the images on the first page of the results are beyond awful.

So to end this post, I would like to say I like that of “Pray for Paris”, but I like better this other one, “Pray for Humanity”. So let´s pray, or ask for, or think of, or wait for the humanity that we are lacking so much, comes back anytime soon to stay for good.
